We really want more teamsters and other members to get involved. If you have a safety idea or question that we could pass on, submit it to webmaster@nmdha.com and we'll route it through the board to post on the site. We'll try to bring you something new every month or so.

Tip #2
When hooking your horses always remember that you want the same size neck yoke and the same size double tree. If your neck yoke is say 42" then your double tree should be a 42" as well. This keeps the horses running parallel to your pole. Remember the end of your neck yoke is the center of the horses and the double would also be the center of the horses on the rear end side.
Using a smaller double tree brings the tugs closer to the horses legs and could cause some rubbing or having a smaller neck yoke brings the horses closer in the front and put undo strain on them to walk parallel to the pole.
One other tip I did recieve was something about Unionized horses, but that was explained very well in the DVD, so check it out there for more on Unionized horses.
