The Summer Meeting and Picnic was held June 28, 2009 at Ed & Rose Borman’s in Kimball, MN.

Secretary’s report was read by Linette Blondell. Roy Molitor made a motion to accept the report and it was 2nd by Bill Pramann. The motion carried.

Old Business:

The selling of our DVD’s was discussed. After airing 2 segments of our 2008 field day DVD on RFD-TV, Joe Mischka, at Rural Heritage called Gene Loxertcamp and said the show was so popular that he needed 30 DVD’s sent to him right away so he could fill all of his orders. Gail Damerow, the previous owner of Rural Heritage, told Gene that she could count, on one hand; the DVD’s they’ve sold of the programs they have aired. That’s telling us that we put on a very diversified and educational show. We’ve had feedback from people across the country, that they really like the in-depth explanations of the teamsters and the equipment they are demonstrating. A BIG THANK YOU to all that participate in the event! That goes for EVERYONE: weed pullers in the potato patch, parking people, gate people, etc. Not just the teamsters & even the people who give us advice and come up with different ideas. It all adds to our event. Everyone should be proud of our show.

The videoing of our DVD’s was up for discussion. We are working with Channel 19 out of Sauk Centre. The question is do we want to give Channel 19 the full ownership of out DVD’s and purchase the DVD’s from them, or do we want to take care of the expenses of editing and making of the DVD’s. A Motion was made by Pat Loxtercamp to let the directors make the decision on the handling of the DVD’s. Paul Olson 2nd the motion. The motion carried.

We will be purchasing a Belgian Colt from Harold Pramann for our raffle tickets.

New Business:

We will be purchasing more walkie talkies from Bob Schreifels to aid in the Field Days.

There was also a discussion on the Spring Plow Days. Should the Spring Plow Days be made into a bigger event by advertising it. It was brought up that the Spring Plow Days was started to get together to tune up the horses.

A Thank you was given for all those who attended the Spring Wagon Train. They hope of putting on another one next year the Saturday before Mothers Day.
