February 22, 2009 Annual Meeting
The club's Annual Banquet and Meeting was held Sunday, February 22, 2009 at The Landing in St. Anna. The dinner was held at noon with the business meeting to follow. We had a little luck on our side, the weather turned out to be very nice since we had our snow storm the day before. We served 151 of our members for dinner. We thank all of those who brought door prizes and desserts for our meeting. Two directors ended their terms - thank you to Wes Nelson and Harold Pramann for all of their hard work, leadership and service.
Elections for the open directors' postions for 2009 and 2010 were held. The two new directors are Hank Blondell, Watkins and Russell Brand, Zimmerman.
Congratulations to Jamie Nelson, daughter of Wes and Cheryl Nelson, Foreston. She is our new NMDHA 2009-2010 Queen.
Wes thanked Hilary and Marion Brunner from Belgrade for hosting the 2008 Field Day event. They were presented with a 2008 Field Day video.
Thank you to Mel Klein and Gene Loxtercamp for narrating the videos. Carla Wolbeck, Adeline Boucher and Linette Blondell for their videos and pictures used for the 2008 Draft Horse videos.

2009 CLUB EVENTS
Saturday, April 25: Spring Field Day will be held at B.J. Klejeski, 1457 180th Ave, Ogilvie. 320-272-4444 beginning at 10 am. Pot luck lunch to follow. Bring your own plates and utensils. Directions: Take 23 into Ogilvie, turn left (North) at Cenex station, 1 mile - 1st place on right out of town.
Sunday, June 28: Summer Picnic & Meeting begins at 12:00 noon hosted by Ed and Rose Borman, 10520 127th St, Kimball, 320-398-5552. Bring a dish to share and bring your own plates and utensils. Directions from St. Cloud: Take Hwy 15 south through Kimball. Go over the rail road tracks and take the 1st right, Co. Rd. 150. Go approximately 1 mile to 103rd St, take a right on the dead end road. It's the 3rd place on the right. Watch for a sign. All members are welcome.
September 26 & 27: NMDHA Annual Fall Field Day for 2009 will be hosted by Gene and Pat Loxtercamp at Sauk Centre, MN. Just a reminder that horses staying over night must have current coggins papers.
We are again looking for a draft horse filly foal that can be registered for our raffle. We will accept a colt if no filly can be found. If you have one that you would like to offer for purchase, let us know. We would like to have a foal in time for the Stearns County Fair in Sauk Centre.

Saturday, April 18th - Heidelberger Farm Equipment - Draft Horse Sale at Pine City. Tack and Misc. starts at 9:30 am, draft horses start at 2 pm followed by riding horses. Dale Heidelberger 320-629-1122.
2nd Annual Hobo Wagon Train. We welcome all teamsters and riders. El Rancho Manana at Richmond, MN on Saturday, May 9, 2009. Minimum donation of $10.00 per participant. All proceeds donated to the Cold Spring Food Shelf.
1st Annual Wild West Show. Come & See the Wild West. Saturday, June 20, 2009. Wild West Show 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Hog Roast at 7:00 pm - soda pop included. Dance 8:00pm to midnight. Events include Stagecoach Ride, Buggy Rides, CanCan Girls, Campfire and Shoot Outs. Camping available Thursday, June 18th thru June 21st - with or without horses. Water available. No Electric. Condolences go out to the George Heerdt family. George passed away in February.
